Turkmen wrestler gained the bronze medal at the Games in Baku

At the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games ongoing in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, fighters of the Greco-Roman style entered the struggle for the championship, including the Turkmen sportsmen, who on the first day won one bronze medal. And meanwhile, our athletes reached the final in boxing competitions.
Seidulla Tazaev placed himself on record in wrestling competitions, becoming the bronze winner in weight category under 59 kg. The pupil of the honored trainer of Turkmenistan and the first Olympic torch-bearer of our country – Rosa Rejepova, he won a close game by a score of 10:8, overcoming the representative of Pakistan – Pak Azhar Hussain.
Greco-Roman Wrestling Competitions will reach completion on May 18. This day, Shermet Permanov (under 75 kg) will wrestle for the national team of Turkmenistan. The next day, wrestling competition will start at the Sports Complex named after Heydar Aliyev, where our athletes are allowed.
Thus, the Turkmen national team has seven medals, including one gold, three silver and three bronze. This figure is still holding our position among the 15 best teams at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.
Today, our boxer Yakub Meredov (under 56 kg) reached the final. Unfortunately, Ya. Meredov seriously injured his hand in one of the last fights. However, he is committed to struggle in the ring for the gold on May 18.
On the same day in the final of weight category under 81 kg, the Turkmen boxer Arslanbek Achilov will meet with a representative of the Azerbaijani Games’ hosts.
Today, one more our master of “leather gloves” – Horasan Imamkuliev in a stubborn semifinal bout lost to the opponent from Iraq, becoming eventually the bronze medal winner.
