The capital hosts the forum dedicated to the UN publishing of the Final Declaration of the Sport Congress in Avaza

National Institute of Sports and Tourism held the conference dedicated to publication of the Final Declaration of the “2017 Asian Games Conference: International Sport Cooperation for peace and Progress” as an official document of the 71st UN General Assembly. 

Representatives of the UN, international organizations and companies involved in preparation of 2017 Asian Games as well as heads and personnel of profile departments, teachers and students of number of universities and volunteers of the coming Games took part in the forum. 

Permanent UN Coordinator in Turkmenistan Elena Panova mentioned in her speech that the fact of publishing of the UN Final Declaration of International Congress in Avaza indicates the recognition of the role of sports in achievement of peace, understanding and sustainable development. 

The UN Permanent Coordinator in Turkmenistan stressed the attention on the call of the Final Declaration to use consolidating role of the sports in the implementation of the Global Agenda of the sustainable development until 2030. Special mention was made that the initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan for popularization of the sports of highest achievements and public physical training movement gain the recognition of the world community. 

Elena Panova noted that the Declaration reflects the support of Turkmenistan initiative on the 7th International Conference of the Heads and Lead Personnel responsible for physical education and sports under the UNESCO aegis. The UN agencies will provide maximum support in organization of this large forum, - Mrs Panova highlighted. 

Johnathan Branson, the Director of «Trivandi Chanzo», participating in preparation of 2017 Asian Games, highlighted that forthcoming Games are to demonstrate the endeavour of Turkmenistan to increase the international role of the sports as an important tool of cooperation, understanding and closing of the people. He expressed the admiration with Ashgabat Olympic village – the super modern multifunctional sport complex with all conditions for large-scale sport forum. 

The participants of the conference mentioned that publishing of the Final Declaration of International Sports Congress as an official document of the 71st UN General Assembly is an evidence of the world community’s support of the sport diplomacy of Turkmenistan, aimed at efficient integration into the world’s Olympic movement. The initiatives of the Head of the State on propaganda of sports and physical culture, assertion of the principles of healthy life style as a term of harmonic development of the individual in public awareness, were highly evaluated in the document. 

The participants of the meeting emphasized that the Declaration outlines the sports as an important factor of sustainable development and recognizes its growing contribution to peace and progress. In this regards, the document contains the appeal to Asian and Oceania states to take an active part in V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games for propaganda of the principles of the Olympic movement on the Asian continent, improvement of international authority of the countries, development of sports in different regions of the planet and improvement of moral and physical features of the sportsmen.
