The Olympic village to host sport tournaments under the project Inspiring Ashgabat on April 22 - 30

As it was informed by the Executive Committee of V Asian Games, Asian Powerlifting Championship, Asian WAKO Kickboxing Tournament and international short distance swimming competitions are to be held in Ashgabat under test cycle Inspiring Ashgabat. 
Dayanch Guliyev, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games noted that organization of two Asian Championships indicates high sport status of Ashgabat and would be an important step in preparation work for the Games starting in September. 
This is the first time for Ashgabat Olympic village to host several international competitions simultaneously. It will give opportunity to test the readiness of multifunctional sport cluster for the Games. 
Asian Powerlifting Championship will be held on April 23 – 29. 144 sets of medals in all weight categories by total count in jerk and snatch will be contested in the tournament. The fact that Asian sportsmen won 31 out of 45 medals in this sport describes the status of the coming tournament. 
Asian Kickboxing Tournament will take place of April 26 – 30 in Martial Arts Sport Complex. The athletes from 20 countries will fight for the medals during 5 days. 354 set of medals will be contested. The composition of the participants of the tournament leaves no doubts that the fans of this sport will be able to see breathtaking fights. 
International short water swimming tournament in individual and relay, where sportsmen from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Afghanistan will take part, are to be held on April 26 – 27. 
Chief Operating Officer of the Executive Committee of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games Mick Wright noted that test tournaments are important image component of preparation to 2017Asian Games. They are to attract the interest to the country and to the impressive work that is done for popularization of the sports of high achievements and encouragement of the principles of healthy lifestyle. The events of the Inspiring Ashgabat will give opportunity to Turkmen citizens to get acquainted with the facilities of the Olympic village and dive into inspiring atmosphere of sport victories. 
The tickets to test tournaments are free of charge and will be distributed from April 7 in Berkarar Trade and Entertainment Centre, Garaşsyzlygyň 15 ýyllygy Trade Centre and in ticket offices of Ashgabat Park.
