Research guidance centre on the Sustainable Development Goals organizes seminar for political party representatives

The Research guidance centre on the Sustainable Development Goals, which was opened in the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on September 1, 2017, held the first training that brought together the representatives of the democratic and agrarian political parties as well as the party of industrialists and entrepreneurs.
Among the trainers at the centre are the experts of the United Nations Organusation, the UN Development Programme, the UN Population Fund as well as the specialists of a number of ministries, legal institutions, higher educational institutions and other educational structures of our country.
The one-week workshop includes lectures and workshop exercises as well as interactive thematic presentations of the Sustainable Development Goals. The aspects of the international practices and the participation of our country on the global agenda till 2030 will be discussed during the seminar.
The first training cycle in the Centre includes 18 topics. Among them are the international cooperation in the sphere of higher education; the world and national practices on gender equality; the best practices of Turkmenistan in the sphere of alternative energy sources and other important innovations; the sustainable development of cities and settlements; the global climate change; the preservation of marine ecosystems; the safe drinking water and sanitation problems; the healthy lifestyle; the legal aspects, etc.
AS is known, the foreign-policy course of neutral Turkmenistan prioritizes the constructive cooperation with the authoritative international structures, including the UN. That is vividly proved by the active position of our country on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Research guidance centre on the Sustainable Development Goals was opened in the high school of diplomacy in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan with the aim to conduct the scientific and methodical work to ensure the 2030 Agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Among the partners of the centre are the Academy of Public Service, the National Institute of Education, higher educational institutions, public organisations, UN agencies, a number of international institutions, etc.
Upon the completion of the training seminar, initiated by the Research guidance centre on the Sustainable Development Goals, the seminar participants exchanged their views and put forward some proposals that will be taken into account during the further trainings for various groups.
