The Department of Social Communication of the International Monetary Fund issued press release, which states that Turkmenistan, being a big producer of natural gas, continues to adapt to difficult external conditions including steady low prices for oil and gas and slow down of economic activity in partner countries. The growth rates remain stable, more than 6 percent during the last two years, which is supported by increase of gas export volumes to China, expanded credit and industrial policy of import substitution and export development.
