President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the celebrations in honor of the Turkmen Horse Day

The International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex became the center of the main solemn event of the Turkmen Horse Day. 

This morning thousands of Turkmen citizens and numerous guests of the country gathered in the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, which turned into a huge demonstration site, where the national culture and traditions of the Turkmen people are represented in all diversity. 

On the territory of the complex there was a large exhibition of arts and crafts, paintings and other works, where the main characters are the incomparable Akhalteke horses. This grand opening reflected the carefully preserved heritage and dynamic modernity, richness and inexhaustibility of the creative imagination of the people. 

Among those present were deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of the Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, public organizations, hakim of the Akhal velayat and the city of Ashgabat, heads of diplomatic missions and missions accredited in our country, elders, youth, as well as representatives of domestic and Foreign media and participants in international forums on horse breeding. 

All participants with great enthusiasm greeted President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who arrived to the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Center. 

Having greeted the audience, the nation's leader inspected the exposition presented by the country's velayats. Each region is distinguished by its ethnographic specifics, the characteristic features of creative schools, the technique of masters, the work of which could be observed immediately. Folklore collectives and folk musicians performed nearby, songs were played, dances and ritual sketches were performed. 

The color of the oriental bazaar was emphasized by wonderful carpets and silk fabrics, amazing embroidery and samples of national clothes, women's jewelry and elegant horse harness glittering with silver and gems, painted ceramics, traditional household items, musical instruments, souvenirs, etc. 

The exhibition was completed by the winners of the contest on the artistic embodiment of the beauty of Akhalteke horses. Beautiful horses are engraved on picturesque and carpet canvases, in sculptures, jewelry and photographs in various forms. Expressive portraits and sculptures combined reality and symbolism, the delightful grace of a horse with its power. 

The demonstration program was carried out by the athletes demonstrating their skills, presenting the sports included in the program of the Asian Games-2017, and many others. 

Artists of folklore and dance ensembles gathered before the main building of the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex with a festive musical dedication.

The host announces the beginning of the festive races - the most prestigious competitions of the season. 

The signal sounds and zealous horses jerked from their stands, quickly gaining speed, riveted by the enthusiastic attention of the audience stands. 

The races, which have ancient traditions in Turkmenistan, nowadays, thanks to the selfless activity of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, began to enjoy unprecedented popularity. A spectacular show, followed with enthusiasm by crowded stands, hundreds of camera lenses, including foreign reporters, who came to us from different parts of the world, lasted more than two hours. 

In total, seven races for different distances took place today, in each of which 12 horses took part, demonstrating their best sporting qualities. 

Then the ceremony of presenting valuable prizes on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the winners of the festive competitions - today's races, as well as the marathon and jumping competitions held this week – has taken place. 

The distance of the marathon was 60 kilometers. Turkmen horses demonstrated not only high-speed qualities, but also sports restraint. 

The best result was shown by the horse Melepel from the Akhal-Teke Horse Complex. Jockey M.Dujdanov. The victorious horse received a prize of 20 thousand dollars and a Cup. 

Now in our country there is another grandiose action, initiated by the Head of the Turkmen State, a 500-day horse marathon in all regions of the country, which started with the beginning of the countdown to the Asian Games-2017. 

As for competitions in jumping, held at the arena of the International Akhalteke equestrian complex, the winner was the Altynhan mount from the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan. Jockey R. Khodzhanepesov was awarded the Cup and the prize of 20 thousand dollars. 

After the awarding of the winners in the marathon and competitions in jumping, the presentation of prizes, played in today's festive races, took place. 

During his stay at the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Center, the President of Turkmenistan also held a number of meetings with representatives of foreign delegations and honorary guests of the festivities in honor of the Turkmen horse.

On Sunday, solemn events on the occasion of the Turkmen Horse's Day were held across the country. Their panorama includes concerts, exhibitions, musical and poetic evenings, solemn meetings and folk festivals, as well as honoring of horse breeders of the country.
