Issues of regional cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China were discussed

On September 22, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with Xu Qingshan, Hangzhou Municipal People's Government Deputy Secretary-General.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of the Turkmen-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership. It was noted that regular high-level contacts contribute to the comprehensive strengthening of the interstate partnership.

Particular attention was paid to the development of regional ties during the talks.

Special mention was made of the high esteem in which the city of Arkadag was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by Hangzhou Dianzi University on March 13, 2025, as an outstanding green and environmentally friendly community.

The parties discussed ways to expand cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as prospects for joint projects in innovation, artificial intelligence, and high technology, including smart city projects and innovative urban infrastructure solutions.

One of the key topics of discussion was the development of scientific and educational ties. The Turkmen side proposed establishing cooperation between Hangzhou Dianzi University and the country's leading universities.

The important role of sports exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations was also noted.
