Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Askar Mamin discuss prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, who arrived in Turkmenistan to attend the forthcoming events of the international significance.
Thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the guest conveyed the greetings to the President of Turkmenistan and the wishes of further progress and prosperity to the people of Turkmenistan on behalf of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the provided opportunity to witness the remarkable events – the festivities on occasion of launching the construction of the next stage of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, laying the foundation of the electricity transmission lines and fibre-optic lines Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan and opening of the Serhetabat-Turgundi railway, Askar Mamin underlined the importance of the transnational projects, the implementation of which will offer a powerful incentive to the socio-economic development of the countries in Asia and expansion of the interstate relations.
The President of Turkmenistan conveyed the best wishes to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and noted that Turkmenistan considered Kazakhstan as one of the important partner in the region that is vividly proved by the Agreement on Strategic Partnership signed in Astana in April, 2017. The President of Turkmenistan noted that the commitment of the two countries to the constructive mutually beneficial cooperation had embodied in the large infrastructural projects that were jointly implemented.
During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest exchanged views on the prospects of development of the Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation that has impressive potential in such strategic spheres as energy and transport, industry and trade.
It was also underlined the importance of enhancing the traditional relations in the humanitarian sphere that is an integral part of the interstate dialogue. In this context, the meeting participants expressed the willingness to widen direct contacts in the areas of culture, sports and tourism.
In conclusion of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin expressed belief that the traditionally friendly relations between the two neighboring countries would continue developing in the interest of the fraternal peoples.
