Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Sergey Lebedev share the visions on the partnership under the CIS

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Commonwealth of Independent States Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev who arrived in Turkmen capital for participation in the opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. 

Having expressed sincere gratitude for spared time, the guest noted that he is glad to visit our country again and take part in the events on occasion of the beginning of the Asian Games. 

Having greeted the guest and thanked for warm words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that our country, steadily implementing foreign policy course based on the principles of positive neutrality, peace loving and constructive cooperation, closely cooperate in different directions including in sport sphere with competent international organizations and structures. 

During the meeting, Turkmen leader and his guest shared the views on the conditions and prospects of the partnership under the CIS, which is built on equal, long-term and beneficial basis. The Head of the State noted that while being an associated member of this structure, neutral Turkmenistan pursues the policy of broad cooperation with all countries of the Commonwealth. We intend to continue supporting comprehensive consolidation of fruitful economic, cultural and humanitarian relation in the CIS space, both on bilateral and multilateral basis, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has said. 

Having noted exclusively responsible and initiative approach of Turkmenistan to fulfilment of its mission during preparation to regional and international forums held in Ashgabat, Sergey Lebedev expressed the confidence that Ashgabat 2017 Games would be held on high organizational level and would give rise to wide resonance around the world. 

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Executive Committee – Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev expressed the confidence that the Games in Ashgabat would serve to further expansion of versatile traditionally friendly cooperation including in sport field.
