Ambassador of Turkmenistan participated in events held in Hubei Province

On June 24, 2026, in the city of Wuhan, PRC, Guan Zhiou, Secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, held an official meeting with a delegation of heads of diplomatic missions and experts from leading international organizations, such as the SCO. The delegation arrived in the region as part of a large-scale study visit under the symbolic title “Hubei – an Inland Hub of Openness and a Strategic Pivot.”

At the meeting, Parahat Durdyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China, spoke on behalf of the ambassadors and high-ranking diplomats from 27 states and international organizations accredited to the PRC.

The event was also attended by Ren Weidong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China's State News Agency Xinhua, Zhuge Yujie, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee.

During the conversation, the head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission, on behalf of the entire representative delegation, expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of Hubei Province, the Xinhua Institute, and all the organizers for the high level of preparation for the visit.

 The Ambassador of Turkmenistan emphasized the deep civilizational nature of the centuries-old ties between the two friendly peoples, highlighting the historical continuity of the current year, 2026. He noted that in Turkmenistan, this period is celebrated under the meaningful motto: “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses.”

 Special emphasis was placed on the high dynamics of the interstate dialogue, which was boosted by top-level contacts this year. In March 2026, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, visited the PRC and held detailed, substantive talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

 In the context of diversifying ties, Hubei Province has taken a key position. The Turkmen-Chinese Scientific and Innovation Forum, operating under the Subcommittee on Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Chinese Cooperation Committee, serves as a crucial political and practical tool. At the regional level, the Hubei Provincial International Center for Scientific and Technological Exchange has established itself as a leading partner of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

At the end of the official meeting, Ambassador P. Durdyev, on behalf of all diplomatic representatives present, renewed his sincere gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to study the economic potential of the region in detail, noting that this will serve the further prosperity and strengthening of friendship between the nations.
