Issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the International Organization for Migration were discussed

On August 5, 2025, on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov and a delegation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) led by Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Artur Erken.

An exchange of views took place on current issues of interaction between Turkmenistan and IOM.

The IOM delegation thanked the Turkmen side for Turkmenistan's active and constructive position in strengthening migration policy and the country's commitment to the principles of orderly, safe and legal migration.

The parties noted the effectiveness of Turkmenistan's cooperation with international and regional structures. The importance of hosting the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in the country, where pressing issues are discussed, was emphasized.

During the talks, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan intends to continue to actively participate in IOM projects.
