At the meeting of the heads of the MFA in Ashgabat, special attention was paid to the Caspian theme

At the talks between the heads of the foreign policy departments of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, special attention was paid to the development of five-way cooperation in the Caspian region.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan especially emphasized the need for coordinated interaction between the littoral states. It was noted that the key areas of cooperation were clearly outlined during the Sixth Caspian Summit, held on June 29, 2022 in Ashgabat.

The initiative of the leadership of Turkmenistan to hold a special Summit of the heads of the Caspian states to discuss topical issues and intensify work to maintain environmental security in the Caspian was announced.

The need to complete work on draft agreements in this area as soon as possible was emphasized. The parties agreed to continue an active dialogue on Caspian Sea issues.
