The export potential of chemical branch became a key topic of the international forum

In the capital hotel "Archabil" the international scientific conference «The chemical branch of Turkmenistan on the path of progress», dated to Day of Workers of Chemical Industry of the country took place. 

Government officials, representatives of ministries and departments, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, large foreign companies, mass-media, and also profile experts and scientists participated in the forum. 

The conference brought together top-managers from more than 30 companies occupied in chemical branch, from Russia, the USA, Germany, China, Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Turkey, Afghanistan, Lithuania and Kazakhstan. 

The gathered with great attention listened to the address of the President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov in which it is underlined that without chemical industry production the economic growth of the country is impossible. For this reason, with the account of important issues facing the branch, the Turkmen state makes enormous efforts for its development according to the requirements of today, first of all, by creation of large modern enterprises and modernisation of existing manufactures, introduction of high technologies. 

As participants of the conference marked, the policy of the head of state is directed to an effective utilisation of natural resources of the Turkmen land. The solution of this strategic problem means not only extraction of raw materials but also its deep processing on the basis of advanced achievements of science and technology, allowing manufacturing various qualitative products which is in great demand both in the home and foreign markets. 

The special attention is given to manufacture of mineral fertilizers that is connected with presence of raw-material base and high requirement for this kind of production use of which promotes repeated increase of efficiency and profitability of agriculture. 

Resource possibilities of Turkmenistan allow to make all kinds of mineral fertilizers in the volume providing internal requirements of the country and also to increase the export potential of the sector. 

Presence of large supplies of natural gas makes building of new capacities for nitric fertilizers, in particular, carbamide perspective. An example of successful realisation of huge potential of chemical industry of Turkmenistan one can cite today the ammoniac and carbamide complexes in the cities of Tejen and Mary in which the modern equipment from the leading world companies is successfully used. 

Capacities of the given enterprises allow not only providing with valuable mineral fertilizers of agricultural manufacturers of the country, but also successfully to export chemical products through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. 

As marked by speakers, large scale transformations occurring in Turkmenistan, the course of diversification of national economy and wide international cooperation open big prospects for realisation of joint projects with foreign partners. 

At present, the building of the third large ammoniac –carbamide complex with a capacity of 1 million 155 thousand tons of carbamide a year in the city of Garabogaz, Balkan province is carried out. The enterprise, the entire production of which will be exported, is planned to start operation in middle of 2018. 

The gathered focused the attention on considerable potential of Turkmenistan in the sphere of manufacture of potash fertilizers. Putting into operation of the first mining complex at the deposit of potash salts in Koytendag district of Lebap province became an important step to this direction. 

The big prospects in development of export oriented manufactures open by the project of creation of new capacities on production of potash fertilizers at the Karabil and Tubegatan deposits which possess large supplies of raw materials. 

Speaking about prospects of manufacture of phosphoric fertilizers, participants of the meeting noticed that at Turkmenbashi chemical plant in July, 2016 the shop for manufacture of sulphur acid with a capacity of 500 thousand tons a year that allowed increasing essentially release of the given type of chemical production, was put into operation. 

Occupying one of the leading places in the world in reserves of hydro-mineral raw materials, Turkmenistan produces various kinds of mineral salts, iodine and its derivatives. Technical iodine is manufactured by three enterprises - chemical plant "Khazar" and also iodic factories "Balkanabat" and "Bereket". According to the program of development of chemical branch in the near future SC Turkmenkhimiya intends to start the erection of factory for manufacture of iodine, bromine and their derivatives in Balkan region. 

Summing up the discussion, participants of the conference pointed out that the interested exchange of opinions allowed to define priority directions of diversification of cooperation in the sphere of chemical industry and will promote successful realisation of export potential of Turkmenistan which possesses enormous reserves of raw materials.
