In the Central Election Commission there was a meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of CIS Executive Committee Victor Guminskiy

Commonwealth of Independent States election observation mission, arrived on invitation of Turkmenistan for the Mejlis Deputies election, and its Headquarters started monitoring of the election campaign.
Under the meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of CIS Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Victor Guminskiy, held in the Central Commission for Election and Referenda of Turkmenistan, there were considered the issues, connected with preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The guest was circumstantially informed of election campaign, proceeded in positive atmosphere and in compliance with national legislation.
In his turn, V.Guminskiy reported on operational principles of CIS Election Observation Mission and its management to be formed in accordance of the legislation of Turkmenistan and based on generally recognized principles and standards of international law in the sphere of organization and conduct of election. Herein, Mission issues from the fact that elections are internal matters of the state, that’s why its task is to evaluate election campaign concerning congruence with national legislation and render assistance in conduct of free and democratic election.
Mission composition is planned to include not less than 80 observers, 10 of which will work on a long-term basis, that was noted in the diffused information message of Mission Headquarters.
