The President of Turkmenistan receives the representative of Asian Development Bank

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received General Director of Central and Western Asia Department of Asian Development Bank Werner Liepach. 

Having expressed the gratitude to Turkmen leader for the opportunity of personal meeting, the guest congratulated the Head of the State on coming remarkable events – the launch of construction of new facilities of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India pipeline, power and fibre optic lines Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan as well as the opening of Serhetabat – Turgundy railroad. 



Speaking of historical importance of the gas main, Werner Liepach stated that the achievements made by Turkmenistan’s initiative serve to the consolidation of peace and expressed the confidence that the realization of international energy project of construction of transnational TAPI pipeline would not only provide transit corridor for the states of Central Asian region but also would open new prospects and opportunities for many countries. 

Welcoming the guest, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the gratitude to the management of ADB for constructive approach to the partnership, having highly appreciated the participation in the financing of TAPI project by such competent structure as Asian Development Bank. The Head of the State spoke for the expansion of fruitful cooperation with this international financial organization, with which the practice of successful work has been achieved. 

In the end of the meeting, having noted the perspectivity of the consolidation of business relations with our country that has colossal economic and resource potential and recommended itself as responsible and reliable partner in the world, Werner Liepach congratulated again Turkmen leader on coming events.
