The meeting was chaired by the Commission's co-chairs – Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Mammetguly Astanagulov and Deputy State Secretary for Eastern Relations at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Ádám Ştifter.

The agenda of the regular meeting included a wide range of political, diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian issues in intergovernmental relations, including the identification of new promising areas of partnership.

The parties noted the important role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Hungarian Commission on Economic Cooperation and analyzed the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting of the Commission.

During the Commission meeting, a wide range of traditional areas were discussed, including agriculture and the food industry, water resources management and environmental protection, and healthcare and the medical industry. The meeting continued with an exchange of views on developing cooperation in science and education, culture, sports, and tourism.

The Commission participants particularly emphasized the importance of the speedy signing of an Agreement between the governments on the encouragement and mutual protection of investments. This document will expand cooperation between the two countries' economic structures and create a legal basis for the inflow of Hungarian investment into Turkmenistan.

Emphasizing the need for regular bilateral meetings, consultations, and negotiations, the meeting participants expressed confidence that the new agreements reached during the current meeting will further strengthen the constructive dialogue in the interests of the two countries.

Following the meeting, the Protocol of the sixth meeting was signed. The parties agreed to hold the seventh meeting of the Commission in Budapest.
