PRESS RELEASE
On December 28, a telephone conversation was held between the National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairwoman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.
The interlocutors exchanged warm congratulations and best wishes for the upcoming New Year, reiterated mutual commitment to strengthening and expanding the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
During the conversation, the sides noted the importance and relevance of the political dialogue, which has proved its effectiveness and accordance with the interests of peace, stability and sustainable development.
One of the subjects of the conversation was the discussion of prospects for cooperation in 2025, which, upon the initiative of Turkmenistan, was declared by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, the need to unite and consolidate the efforts of the international community to reinstate the culture of dialogue, respect and tolerance into the global politics is becoming even more crucial.
In this regard, women having high responsibility and perception of their humanistic mission to present and future generations have a crucial role in this process.
In this context, the National Leader of Turkmen people noted the success of the first Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and Russia held in Turkmenistan in 2022. It was emphasized that the forum demonstrated the pacifying and inspired role of women in international life, gave an important impetus to their active involvement in the processes of intensifying interstate relations.
In this regard, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed Valentina Matviyenko to consider the possibility of holding the second Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and Russia in May next year in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.
A special meaning of such an event will be gained by the fact that it will confirm the role and historical purpose of the Caspian Sea as a Sea of peace, harmony, good-neighbourliness and effective international cooperation, a place of meeting, dialogue and mutual understanding. This is particularly relevant in the present setting of complex tendencies in world politics.
The Second Dialogue on the Caspian Sea would also demonstrate that this region is increasingly becoming one of the centres of responsible international diplomacy, a hub of constructive impulses of cooperation and mutual understanding that will spread far beyond its borders.
