On the Presentation Forum Dedicated to the outcomes of the Business Forum and Exhibition in Ashgabat
On May 20, 2026, a presentation forum was held in Beijing. The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People's Republic of China and the China Overseas Development Association (CODA), with the close assistance of the “China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center” company and other partners. The primary objective of the forum was to familiarize interested Chinese companies, entrepreneurs, and media representatives with the outcomes of the Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition held in Ashgabat in April of this year.
The forum was attended by diplomats from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the PRC, senior management and representatives of CODA, the “China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center” company, as well as representatives of Turkmen and Chinese private enterprises—totaling over 200 participants.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China delivered a welcoming address to the gathering.
In his speech, the Ambassador noted that the year 2026, held in Turkmenistan under the motto “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan— Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses” has been marked by a number of important political and economic events aimed at comprehensively strengthening the Turkmen-Chinese strategic partnership.
In this context, the diplomat underscored the particular significance of mutual visits at the highest and high levels. It was noted that the friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the People's Republic of China in march of this year, followed by the visit of Ding Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC (undertaken on behalf of President of the PRC Xi Jinping), imparted a powerful impetus to a new stage in the development of bilateral relations.
Concluding his remarks, the Ambassador invited the guests to take an active part in the festive events to be held in Turkmenistan on the occasion of the year “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan
— Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses” as well as in honor of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence.
The forum also featured addresses by Zhou Lin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Demonstration Area and Mayor of Jiaozhou City; Jiang Yun, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Overseas Development Association; and Li Zan, Director of the “China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center” company.
In their reports, the speakers elaborated on the outcomes of the Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition in Ashgabat, the results of thematic sessions and business meetings, outlined new vectors of cooperation, and shared the positive experiences of the Chinese delegation members.
It was noted with pride that the Congratulatory address of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants was read out during the opening ceremony of the Ashgabat forum. The event was attended by heads of government, ministries and agencies, public organizations, and the media, as well as heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan.
High interest was expressed in holding the Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition on an annual basis to further strengthen and deepen bilateral ties, as well as to create new opportunities for the implementation of joint investment projects.
As part of the large-scale presentation forum, an exhibition was organized, showcasing Turkmen national jewelry, traditional costumes, carpets, and products manufactured by Turkmen entrepreneurs. Videos and photographs reflecting the country's dynamic development and achievements were also presented to the guests.
At the conclusion of the official event, guests were offered exquisite dishes of Turkmen national cuisine, which aroused particular interest and left a vivid impression on the forum participants.
