Scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality and the outcomes of the meeting of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan was held in Beijing
On October 16, 2025, a scientific and practical conference was held in the “Marriott” Hotel in Beijing, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of permanent Neutrality status of Turkmenistan, reviewing of the results of the People’ Council (Halk Maslahaty) meeting, as well as issues of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, the Ministries of Education and Culture, the Chinese Committee of the SCO on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation, as well as various public organizations and associations. The event was also attended by teachers and students of leading Chinese universities and representatives of authoritative Chinese media outlets.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the PRC Parahat Durdiyev delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of the policy of permanent neutrality and friendly Turkmen-Chinese relations.
The conference was also addressed by the Counselor, Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC Yu Chunli, Professor Dai Guizhu, President of the China Overseas Development Association (CODA) He Zhenwei, Secretary General of the China Horse Industry Association Yue Gaofeng, Head of the China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center Li Zan and the Press Attaché of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China Akja Agamyradova.
In their speeches, participants noted the importance of international initiatives put forward by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. Particular attention was paid to the successful implementation of the policy of positive neutrality, which contributes to the strengthening of peace, development of dialogue, and sustainable development both in the region and beyond.
It was reaffirmed at the Conference that Turkmenistan’s neutrality, recognized and confirmed by three UN resolutions, remains the foundation of the country's independent foreign policy and the symbol of its commitment to global stability and mutual understanding.
Participants were also informed about the results of the successive meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan, held in September of current year.
Particular emphasis was placed on the symbolic significance of 2025, which marks two important anniversaries: the 30th anniversary of the declaration of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations.
During the conference, information was presented about the upcoming International Forum to be held in Ashgabat in December, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
Conference guests also got acquainted with books of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The event featured a large photo exhibition, an exhibition of cultural goods, and a video presentation dedicated to the achievements of Turkmenistan during the years of Independence.
