A package of bilateral documents signed in Astana, on the basis of the Turkmen-Kazakh talks at the highest level

Following the results of the talks in Astana between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, a package of bilateral documents was signed to expand the partnership between the two countries.

The heads of state consolidated their signatures with the Joint Statement, the Treaty on Strategic Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Agreement on Demarcation of the Turkmen-Kazakh State Border.

The sides also signed the Agreement on the joint intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, the Program of Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two states for 2017-2018, the Agreement on Cooperation in the Sphere of Countering the Legalization of Proceeds of Crime and Financing of Terrorism , The Agreement on the mutual protection of classified information, the Agreement on Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the National Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Atameken».

A separate document was signed that deals with the establishment of brother city relations between the cities of Ashgabat and Astana.

The visit of the Turkmen leader is also timed for the signing of a Memorandum between the State News Agency of Turkmenistan "TDH" and the International Information Agency "Kazinform".
