21ST CENTRAL ASIAN MEDIA CONFERENCE TOOK PLACE IN BISHKEK

During the period of 17-18 July 2019, the 21st Central Asian Media Conference named “Media freedom and Pluralism in Times of Digital Transformation” was held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek city and was organized by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.

The Conference embraced more than 100 participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia representing the state agencies, mass media, civil society and scientific groups with the aim of exchanging the views and relevant experience. 

During the events, various aspects of the digital transformation of media were discussed.  The events composed of plenary sessions, group discussions, as well as parallel actions for detailed discussion of current issues and concrete examples of media projects implemented in the region.  During its speech, the Turkmen delegation acquainted the delegates with the work of media in Turkmenistan.
