Agreement on cooperation signed between the higher educational institutions in Turkmenistan and Romania

The Turkmen delegation, including the representatives of the Ministry of Education and a number of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, paid a working visit to Romania. The representatives of our country were received at the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania. During the meeting, the current status and the prospects of the dialogue in the sphere of education were considered. In particular, the meeting participants discussed the progress in implementing the 2017-2022 Programme on Cooperation between the Ministries of Education of the two countries, as well as the aspects of enhancing the partnership in the educational and research spheres. The members of the delegation held bilateral meetings with the colleagues – the heads of a few institutions of higher education in Romania. 

In the framework of the visit to Brasov, the delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the session of the National Council of Rectors of Romania and the festive events, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Transilvania University of Brasov. 

A number of bilateral documents on cooperation between the universities of the two countries were signed on the outcomes of the meetings. Among them are the Agreement on Academic and Scientific Cooperation between the State Medical University of Turkmenistan and the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy; the Basic agreement on cooperation in the sphere of education, science and culture between the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Transilvania University of Brasov; the Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the University of Bucharest of Economic Studies on educational and research cooperation; the Agreement on cooperation between S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the Ion Ionescu de la Brad University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Iasi; the Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest. 

In addition, the delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the presentation of the books by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan”, “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road” and “Medicinal plants of Turkmenistan”. The event was organized by the Embassy of our country together with the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
