Turkmen wrestlers successfully perform at the world championship in Kazan

The World belt Wrestling Championship in men and women classic and free style in Kazan was very successful for our national Team. Around 200 sportsmen from 38 countries took part in the tournament. Turkmen wrestlers won 14 medals where four gold, six silver and 4 bronze. 

Arslan Ybrayimgulieyv in the weight category above 100 kg and Plavan Gurbangeldiyev in the weight category up to 75 kg were the winners of the champion title in men’s competitions. Both sportsmen are the students of the State Institute of Transport and Communication. 

Other two members of our team are the gold winners of the tournament in women. They were Zukhra Madraimova (58 kg) representing the State Custom Service and student of National Institute of Sports and Toursim Lachyn Badagliyeva (up to 52 kg). 

Serdar Batyrov (up to 100 kg), Gylych Jumayev (up to 90 kg), Isgender Ashyrov (up to 62 kg) won silver medals. Two silver medals in the weight category up to 68 kg were won by Turkmen sportsmen Begench Yagmyrov and Medet Hallygurbanov. Dinara Halliyeva (up to 66 kg) won the silver in women. 

Four our wrestlers Sylapberdi Nuriyev (up to 82 kg), Ilyas Rakhmanov (up to 57 kg), Begench Kakaliyev and Nasiba Surkiyeva (up to 76 kg) won bronze medals of the world championship.
