Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania presented copies of his credentials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On May 15, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku) Kęstutis Vaškelevičius, who presented copies of his credentials.
A.Gurbanov congratulated the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country on his appointment to the responsible post and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to render assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic mission.
During the talks, the diplomats touched upon the current state and prospects of cooperation, and specified priority fields for its further development.
The constructive work of the states in the multilateral format, primarily within the UN, was emphasized.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed hope for the participation of the Lithuanian side in the work of the International Forum, which will be held on December 12, 2025 in Ashgabat on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador assured that he would make every effort to develop Turkmen-Lithuanian cooperation.
