Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia presented copies of his credentials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On April 28, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Bashimova had a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Hector Isidro Arenas Neira, who presented copies of his credentials.

M.Bashimova congratulated the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country on his appointment to a responsible post and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic mission.

During the talks, the participants, having identified priority areas for further bilateral cooperation, expressed the commitment of the parties to the development of a constructive dialogue in the international arena.

The interlocutors considered the prospects for organizing political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Colombia, as well as the establishment of an Interparliamentary Friendship Group between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Congress of the Republic of Colombia.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed hope for the participation of the Colombian side in the work of the international forum, which will be held on December 12, 2025 in Ashgabat within the International Year of Peace and Trust and in honour of the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of Colombia assured that he would make every effort to develop Turkmen-Colombian cooperation.
