Presentation of the collection of poems of Magtymguly Fragi in Uzbek was held the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan

On October 15, 2024, a presentation ceremony of a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi in the Uzbek language was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan from among the scientific intelligentsia, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Turkmenistan, employees of the domestic sphere of education and science, faculty and students of the university.

As part of the event, an exhibition was held, which presented works of national fine and decorative applied art of the Central Asian states, as well as museum exhibits and books about the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi. In addition, fragments from a joint Turkmen-Uzbek biographical film about the poet were shown, which made a great impression on the participants of the event.

Speakers at the presentation noted that the poet’s creative legacy is an important bridge for expanding intercultural ties and bringing countries and peoples closer together. The relationship between the languages and literatures of the peoples of the East and the role of the poet’s works in educating young people in the spirit of patriotism and peacemaking were also emphasized.

As was stated in the speeches, in the modern historical period the significance of Magtymguly’s poetic legacy has gone beyond national boundaries and has become an integral part of world literature.

The translation of the poems of the great classic poet of Turkmen literature into the Uzbek language became another step in strengthening cultural ties and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
