Sergey Meladze is the silver medallist of the World Powerlifting Cup

Turkmenistan citizen Sergey Meladze won silver medal in the weight category up to 72 kg at the World Powerlifting Cup among the sportsmen with limited capabilities. 

In his first trial, our athlete easily lifted the weight of 180 kg, however, the weight of 185 kg he took only from the second approach. 

It allowed him to take over the bronze winner, sportsman for Thailand Fongs Marasri who stopped at 180 kg weight. Powerlifting master from Iraq Rasul Mihsin, who lifted 220 kg weight, was the winner in this weight category. 

Sergey Meladze has big experience performing at high-level international competitions. He participated in Paralympic Games in London, Rio de Janeiro and in number of other world championships.
