THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN

On September 20, 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of State for Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Musadik Masood Malik.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the time, the guest conveyed heartfelt greetings to the head of state from the top leadership of his country - President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who addressed the best wishes to all the Turkmen people.

Thanking for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the top leadership of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, stating with satisfaction the high level of mutual understanding and trust inherent in the interstate dialogue, which contributes to the intensification and comprehensive expansion of the constructive bilateral partnership, giving it a new concrete content.

In continuation of the meeting, the head of state and his guest discussed priority issues of Turkmen-Pakistani cooperation, one of the key areas of which is the trade and economic sphere. Here the most important component is interaction in the strategic fuel and energy sector. In this context, particular importance is attached to the implementation of the project for the construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI).

Along with this, projects for the construction of power lines and fiber-optic communications along the route Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) are of great importance. The implementation of these large-scale projects in the fields of energy and communications is designed to promote the sustainable socio-economic development of the entire region, its successful integration into the system of world economic relations, and the strengthening of regional peace and stability.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that Pakistan fully supports the constructive foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan and its international initiatives in the field of ensuring global energy security, the relevance of which is clearly evidenced by a number of resolutions adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state and his guest expressed confidence in the further progressive development of traditional bilateral cooperation, which has received new dynamics and content in recent years.
